You will often come across mention on these webpages of the various class of fights that occur at an event. Here is a guide for anyone who has been wondering exactly what they mean:

Fight Classification System

All Classes

• Fighters are matched according to weigh, gender and experience
• Fighters are weighed and undergo medicals

Novice Class

• For fighters with little or no ring experience.
• No win / No Lose safe controlled environment.
• Shin Guards, Head Guards (body armor by agreement)
• 3 x 1.5 minute rounds
• Head contact not allowed for juniors
• Trophies/medals awarded to all competitors
• No elbows or knees to the head

C Class

• For fighters who wish to test their abilities in a competitive environment
• There is a winner and a loser
• No shin guards, head guards or body armor
• 3 x 2 minute rounds
• No elbows or knees to the head

B Class

• For experienced C Class fighters who have at least eight wins at C Class
• 5 x 2 minute rounds
• No elbows or knees to the head

A Class

• For successful B Class fighters who have at least eight wins at B Class
• 5 x 3 minute rounds
• Full Thai Rules Apply
